Clipping Photo Masks in Photoshop

Our latest facebook exclusive free kit includes 3 photo masks.
If you are not sure how to use these- here is a quick tutorial using Photoshop CS5.

(It would be best for the image to overlap the mask completely. However, for demonstration purposes, the photo layer is smaller than the mask.)

  1. Do you have instructions for those of use who don't use photoshop? I use Creative Memories sbcStudio software for Mac.

    Thanks.

  3. Donna Burns- these instructions apply to all photoshop programs.
Donna Penn- we are told that the CM software allows you to "clip" photo's to shapes and not .png files? With a shape, you would lose the grunge/overlay look. Still working on a confirmation.

  7. Sharon, you would create a new layer above the mask, and with the top layer highlighted, clip it.
You can clip by the keyboard shortcuts in the image- or you can also go to the top bar of photoshop where it says "Layers" - drop down- choose "create clipping mask".
